75 YEARS, 3 GENERATIONS, 1 GOAL: ELEVATE THE TRADITION OF CRAFT WITH WORKWEAR THAT PERFORMS BETTER, LASTS LONGER, AND GETS THE JOB DONE—AND DONE RIGHT.
IT BEGAN WITH A BROOM
In 1948, Engelbert Strauss was selling brooms, brushes, and farm goods in rural Germany. True to the family name (Strauss means ostrich), he marked those early, high-quality products with an ostrich logo. Before long, he was travelling across the country, guided by a simple principle: “Always stay close to the customer.” That credo still shapes the STRAUSS mindset today—understand real work, solve real problems, and be a real partner.
WORKWEAR THAT WORKS
What people wear affects how they feel, how they perform, and how they show up. That is why STRAUSS combines product performance with a distinct professional look that ensures you feel capable, credible, and ready.
NEXT GENERATION
Today, STRAUSS is led by Henning and Steffen Strauss, Engelbert’s grandsons. The ostrich logo, once linked to the company’s broom-trading origins, has become a proud symbol of craftsmanship, skill, and quality among tradespeople worldwide. From small family-owned contractors to global industry leaders, the family-owned and operated brand ultimately evolves with the people building, solving problems, and shaping the future.
